MUMBAI, India -Economic Times/TIMES NEWS NETWORK, by LIJEE PHILIP, JULY 26, 2005: -- Increasing competition in the marketplace has got home-grown commercial vehicle (CV) majors eyeing international joint ventures. Mahindra & Mahindra has tied up with the US-based International Truck and Engine Corporation. Swaraj Mazda with Isuzu. Force Motors has tied up with MAN Nutzfahrzeuge AG of Germany. Ashok Leyland has a tie-up with Iveco. Tata Motors has acquired Korean truck company Daewoo Commercial Vehicle to launch heavy duty trucks... Analysts indicate that these global tie-ups are more for heavy duty trucks, a segment where domestic CV majors are not strong, analysts added...
