Unsafe - Canada - One in nine rental trucks found unsafe
Stoney Creek,Ontario,Canada -Stoney Creek News, by Ray Yurkowski -Aug 19, 2005: -- Ontario's Ministry of Transportation has released the results of a month-long inspection blitz of rental trucks and trailers... One in nine rental trucks inspected was found not safe enough to be on the road and 74 vehicles have been taken out of service province-wide... "While any unsafe vehicle on our roads is unacceptable, there is a clear problem with this industry's safety standards," said... A total of 693 vehicles were inspected and 10.7 per cent had mechanical defects, primarily with brakes, lighting and steering...
