New Tests - USA - EPA planning to revise fuel economy rules

EPA: New fuel economy tests needed by 2008 model year
ANN ARBOR,Mich,USA -The Detroit News/Associated Press, by Dee-Ann Durbin -Nov 19, 2005: -- The head of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency said Friday he plans to propose new regulations for testing vehicle fuel economy by the end of this year and wants the new tests in place by the 2008 model year... The EPA tests vehicles to get the estimated city and highway fuel economy that is displayed on vehicles' window stickers... The EPA says the current tests don't reflect real-world driving. Here are some assumptions made by the current tests compared to more recent data from the EPA. The EPA calculates velocity in miles per hour per second...
