Biodiesel - USA - This Fuel May Not Be the Answer

Canadian Trucking Alliance Says

Saskatoon,Saskatchewan,Canada -Saskatoonhomepage.ca, by Jim Mattern -22 Mar 2006: -- The Canadian Trucking Alliance says the federal government should look more closely at alternatives before imposing biodiesel fuel on the trucking industry... Stephen Laskowski the Vice President of Economics and Environmental Affairs, says the industry, would like the government to look at providing more electrified rest areas for truckers so they could plug in heating or cooling units rather than run their trucks... and Ottawa could also consider increasing weight allowances for the installation of such units, and remove length penalties for trucks and tractors which would allow the use of scoops to make the units more aerodynamic... says making biodiesel mandatory doesn't make sense when it is still an unproven fuel, that may do more harm than good to new, low polluting truck engines...
