* Sweden - Scania releases more fuel savings with SCR-only 450bhp engine

Södertälje,Sweden -Transport Engineer -18 June 2014: -- Scania is extending its Euro 6 truck engine range to 18 with the introduction of a 450bhp, SCR-only, 13-litre unit... The latest product will, says Scania, give operators a choice of EGR/SCR or SCR-only for 44-tonne gtw operations. Maximum torque is 2,350 Nm and is available from 1,000 rpm... The company says a Scania Streamline equipped with the latest engine will deliver a 1% fuel saving, compared with the EGR/SCR model... Engines using only SCR technology require more AdBlue – usually 6% of diesel fuel, for Scania models, while engines with EGR and SCR normally require 3%...
